Boxed Salvador Dalí Hallmark Fine Artists Butterfly Valentine Mug
Salvador Dalí (1904 – 1989) was a prominent Spanish surrealist artist, famous for placing ants and melting clocks in his paintings. Dalí self-induced hallucinations in order to access his subconscious while creating art, a process he called the paranoiac-critical method.
In 1948 Dalí was one of several of the world's master artists that Hallmark Cards founder J.C. Hall befriended and commissioned to create artwork for a new series of greetings cards. Dalí who saw no conflict between fine art and commercial work, created a second collection of artwork for Hallmark in 1959.
This beautiful boxed mug features his 1959 ink, watercolour and collage 'Butterfly Valentine' work of art which is in the Hallmark Fine Artists Collection.
