Pendle Witch Botanical Wax Melt

The rich green floral fragrance of PENDLE WITCH opens with top notes of ylang, gardenia, violet and freesia. This leads onto a heart of lily, rose, jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom, and a base of musk, precious woods, amber and dry fruit. The melt also contains dried rose petals.

Our Mystical England range of wax melts are inspired by the tales and traditions of England. Some fact, some legend, all magical. PENDLE WITCH is inspired by the accused women (and a couple of men) of Pendle Hill and the surrounding areas. These women used herbs, flowers and potions to create cures for local villagers. Their stories go back to the 1600s, a time of superstition and religious persecution. King James I was obsessed with witch hunts and trials, he even wrote Daemonologie; a book focusing on the importance of hunting witches. Eventually, through a series of unfortunate events, two families of Pendle Hill came under the king's close scrutiny, and were eventually sent to trial and hanged at Gallows Hill in Lancaster. I have always had a slight obsession with the Pendle Witches, but Alice Nutter stood apart from the others and is the one that made me want to first visit Lancaster Castle, Roughlee (to see her statue), Black Moss in Barley (potential Malkin Tower location), the beautiful witch sculpture in the Sculpture Trail opposite Pendle Hill and Alice's final resting place in St Mary’s Church at Newchurch-in-Pendle. The scent of PENDLE WITCH invokes the natural landscape that these women lived in, and the natural cures that they concocted.

Hand poured by HowCurious, these 100% natural snap bar wax melts are vegan friendly, cruelty free and paraben free. They are made with EcoSoya wax which is an all natural soya wax. The bar contains 5 sections; with an approximate burn time of 6-8 hours per section. Simply snap a section off, and place in the well of your wax warmer. Light a tealight, pop it underneath the well and take in the magical scent. Your melt will come with a fragrance and inspiration information card; perfect if you are gifting it and would like your recipient to know the inspiration behind it.

Wax Melt Use:

Snap off a section and place in the top of your oil burner or wax warmer. Place an unscented tea light in the section underneath, and relax! It very much depends on the warmer you're using but generally, each section lasts around  6-8 hours, and there are 5 sections. Be Candle Aware:

When burning candles, do not leave burning while unattended and do so in a well-ventilated area. Keep clear of flammable materials, never move while burning and burn on a level, stable surface away from draughts. Please also keep it away from your pets and small child.
