Lisa Parker "His Master's Voice" 3D Bookmark
Unique and stunning "His Master's Voice" 3D tassled bookmark, featuring a black cat and ouija board, illustrated beautifully by Lisa Parker.
The 3D effect gives a feeling of depth, the blur effect is simply due to the diffcult nature of photographing a 3D image. When holding the bookmark, it really feels like the candle is there right in front of you. We have many more Lisa Parker bookmark designs.
Dimensions: 15cm x 5cm
Some of the earliest bookmarks were used at the end of the sixteenth century, and Queen Elizabeth I was one of the first to own one.
The Ouija board is also known as a talking board or a spirit board, and the first one was commercially introduced by Elijah Bond on 1st July 1890. Originally, it was just intended as a fun parlour game, but during World War I, American spiritualist Pearl Curran used it as a divination tool. She believed that the dead were able to contact the living through the board. It is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words "yes", "no", "hello" (occasionally), and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. Participants ask questions of the board, place their fingers on the planchette (a small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic) and this is moved about to spell out words.
