Day of The Dead Curiosities

The Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico on All Saints Day (November 1) and All Souls’ Day (November 2), in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. Dressing up as skeletons is part of the celebration. People of all ages have their faces artfully painted to resemble skulls, and, mimicking the calavera Catrina, they don suits and fancy dresses.
