Stay Wild, Moon Child

Did you see the Wolf Moon, also known as the Old Moon, last night? We were lucky enough to be staying in a 15th century gatehouse in North Yorkshire with no light pollution, and it was beautiful. We will be telling you all about the gatehouse very soon.

Why Wolf Moon? It was named because villagers used to hear packs of wolves howling in hunger around this time of the year. It was also a supermoon, which is when the full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth in its orbit. We will see another supermoon on January 31st, and when two full moons appear in the same calendar month the second is termed a Blue Moon.
